VE Day 80th Celebrations

Thursday 8th May VE Day 80 years since the end of the last war – Carter’s Park, Holbeach, PE12 7EE The community is invited to join the VE Day 80th Celebrations at Carter’s Park on Thursday, 8th May, from 5pm to 10pm. This special event commemorates the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day and promises an evening filled with reflection, music, and community spirit. The event will feature the lighting of the Lamps of Peace, symbolizing hope and reconciliation. Guests will be transported back to the 1940s and 1950s with live music from the Singing Sisters, solo singing sets, and DJ Chuka spinning timeless tunes. A “Plant a Poppy” station will offer attendees the opportunity to contribute to a memorial. In a poignant highlight, the Royal Observer Corps Association will light the Beacon at Wignals Gate, Holbeach at 9:30pm, with their event beginning at 8pm.
