Lighting a Lamp Light of Peace
A programme of activities throughout Thursday 8th May. Three sessions all held at The Cottage, Aspley Mills, Stationers Place, HP3 9RL -Cottage Tudor Room and Remembrance Garden. Town Crier throughout the day, with final cry at 9.30pm. Morning (9-12.00am) and afternoon (13.00-16.00): DROP-IN Table top exhibition, ‘Apsley and the Paper Mills at War’ and chance to enter conversation with Heritage Fireman Paul Sturman who remembers VE Day. Light refreshments will be available to purchase. Our 1938 Dennis Ace fire engine and fire crew will be there too. Evening: (8.30- 10pm est) 9.30 Town Crier, Fire Hurricane Lamps Light of Peace, Showing of film, ‘Dickinson’s in Battledress’ Hemel Hempstead Brass Band and more tbc
