Lighting a Lamp Light of Peace
This event is invite only for local groups. We will be welcoming guests from 9am and serving hot drinks and biscuits. They will be free to have a look around the castle and mingle. So far, we have the local town Councillors attending, the local museum group, the town band, the town choir, as well as the High sheriff of Cornwall and our staff/volunteer team. At 9:30pm we have a poetry reading from a local amateur poet – they will be reading VE Day We Have Come Through, by Edmund Blunden. We will then light the beacon and hold a moments silence. After this the town choir are going to perform a song. We will be done by 10pm at the latest.
