VE Day Community Celebration

Dressing up!
We are asking children to dress up in wartime style outfits or uniforms.

Wall of Remembrance – We are also planning a wall of remembrance to be displayed in recognition of the impact of people who are linked to our Coppice family. Photos, digital or printed, of members of the children’s families that served in the military services during WW2 including their military branch, unit and rank and if they received medals for their service. Memories or quotes from them, we would be so appreciative.

Baking Competition with the theme being VE Day 80th Anniversary – baking masterpieces will be on sale at the end at our Afternoon Tea Party.

VE Day Artwork
Artwork will be in school based on a specific VE Day related themes, using a variety of artistic techniques and for one of these we will need lots of old magazines so any you could donate would be greatly appreciated.

Music
There will be singing of wartime favourite songs and playing a variety of outdoor games that would have been played by the children in 1945.

We will also be decorating some cakes in school for our afternoon tea party to which parents are invited to join us from 2pm. Parents/carers please wear something red, white or blue or a wartime outfit if you really want to get in the swing of things.
